Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I'm quite new to all of this. I decided to go with Hyperion as it's better even though it's harder to learn.

I just can't seem to find a way to edit the saved files for player. The exstension is dat.gz and when I open it in notepad I get a weird file. First unpacking it with Winrar and then opening it doesn't really change alot.

So, how do I correctly edit these files?
Thanks in advance for helping me.

You'd need to write a program that opens them (like when it's loaded), shows the data on screen, allows you to edit this data and then allows you to save it again (like when it's saved).

Unless you've written GUI's before, this is probably too difficult for you.
My advice: leave it for now. You don't really need such a program while you're in development. And during development, you can use commands to change any data.

Thank you very much for answering my question.

I guess I'll just continue learning about Hyperion and come back to this later.
