    ** Intermediate/Experienced programmers only please. **

    Due to how often people bitch at each other over how to do something, I want your opinions about what pieces of content should be used with different types of code.

    I just want a variety of opinions from other people. I figure I may as well try to keep everybody happy.

    List the names of what Skills or content should be used with the following things;

    Code:
    Arrays:
    Content/Skill:

    Switch():
    Content/Skill:

    Methods:
    Content/Skill:

    XML:
    Content/Skill:

    Scripting languages (Python etc):
    Content/Skill:

    Events:
    Content/Skill:

    Code:
    Arrays:
    Content/Skill: Anything that uses a lot of data.

    Switch():
    Content/Skill: Something that doesn't use as much data, such as like if(yourVariable == 1) return 10; else return 25;, its better to use a switch

    Methods:
    Content/Skill: Everything should have a method

    XML:
    Content/Skill: Anything that holds a lot of data and needs to be edited frequently.

    Scripting languages (Python etc):
    Content/Skill: Content such as packets, etc.

    Events:
    Content/Skill: Anything that needs a timer
    Is that better?

    Code:
    public void craftLeather(int a, int b, int c, int d) {

    [INDENT]shit;
    }

    public void whatever(int item, int usedon) {

    [INDENT]craftLeather(a, b, c, d);
    }

    Good enough I suppose. *I'm really not great at explaining things :coolface:

    Well I mean, I get what you're trying to say but it's literally impossible to make a skill without implementing any methods. xD

    Content/Skill: Everything.

    Switch():
    Content/Skill:When something is being used for multiple variables

    Methods:
    Content/Skill: Both, how are you going to write anything?

    XML:
    Content/Skill: Hmm, both. NpcDefinitions, ItemDefs, ect

    Scripting languages (Python etc):
    Content/Skill: Can't say, don't know anything but VB and Java.

    Events:
    Content/Skill: Skills. Or anything with timing.

    This is a stupid topic, as Graham has said above (although not in as many words), there's not a set way to do something, use whatever you think is appopriate, opinions will differ from person to person.
