I am brand new to this website and runescape private servers altogether, however it seems to me that there are not that many open source things such as the custom mini games i am currently in the process of creating.

I am putting a lot of time into developing these and i am putting in as much quality as i can and i am just wondering if it would be a good idea to release them as open source and downloadable and make a tutorial on how i made them.

I have seen this happen a couple times for mini games runescape has already developed such as the pest control, barrows, castle wars, and a few others that kind people have created tutorials for and have given their own source code.

But it seems that every time this happens all they get is post after post of people either making fun of them or scolding them for one thing or another. And why does everyone talk about buying things from each other, do transactions for services actually happen in this environment? And if so what is a normal rate for what work to be done?

All in all i want to hear the yays and nays on the idea of me posting a couple mini games all 100% custom coded by me. I know no one is familiar with my work so just assume that it is high quality and if it comes to it i can prove myself later on down the line.

Thanks for all that post and sorry for making it such a large post, i tried to block everything as best i could.
