    Hey rune-server,

Ive been getting a few bugged account on my server lately and i want to make a 'backup' command that saves thier file to a backup folder instead of the normal characters folder everytime they do the command.

First im just wondering what is the best way to go about this, ive tried a few ways but none are foolproof or efficient enough yet...

    Would it be best to:
-make it copy the current char file over
-make a whole new save boolean for the backup

    Argh please help! lol
    Rep will be given.
    Thanks in advance

Hmm im not that smart but mabey try this; Okay everytime your character files are saved, have them saved twice one to the main character files and one to a backup? Im not sure if this will lag the server or if its possible but if it is a good/bad idea tell me lol

Noo tha defeats the whole purpose lol... Some of my char files have been getting bugged and wiped upon saving. So i want backups to be done by the players when they want it to be done.

Ohh lol i need to read more carefully. Hmm. Mabey try like a ::backup command for the players to use regularly? Or you can just make a whole new save method. A new save method would help more in the long run

    Yeah I have the code.
    Code:
    fix the bug.
Chances are that the backup files are still going to be bugged, as you wouldn't have a way to tell if the original file is bugged. For example:

    Original file saves..
    Back up file saves..
    Original file gets corrupt..
    Original file saves..
    Back up file saves..

UNLESS you only want the backup file to only save once, but then your players would never make progress.

The only way to prevent this is to find out what is causing the glitch, I don't see why you are going so far out of your way to avoid the problem..

No i get an average of 1 bugged file per week.
And i hate going through the mess to sort it out. So, i want the players to be able to ::backup whenever they want. So it wont be an auto saver.
