    The old cache format doesn't support caches larger than 8 GB.

    That reddit thread led me to finding my way here. Really cool that something like this exists for runescape. What's up with this cache, though? https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/300

    The .idx255 file was empty in all of those, I didn't realise before I imported them (my tooling now flags up an error if that happens).

    I am looking at writing something which might be able to recover caches with a corrupt .idx255 file.

    Cjay0091 provided an 877 cache: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/610

    Hlwys provided some more caches from the Reddit thread. I've imported some, some are pending .idx255 recovery support + pre-JS5 support. The ones I have imported:

    * beta cache from 2013, unknown revision: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/606
    * 446: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/601
    * 451: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/602
    * 641: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/605
    * 656: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/603
    * 2011, unknown revision: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/604
    * 2013, unknown revision: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/607 (Flenarn has since identified this as revision 763)
    * 2013, unknown revision: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/608
    * 2014, unknown revision: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/600 (Flenarn has since identified this as revision 822)

    Hlwys provided a 614 cache from Advanced_Basic on Reddit: https://archive.openrs2.org/caches/615

    This is slightly older than the existing 614 cache.

    Are the map keys for all maps validated on submit of a new key or is it a manually initialized process?

    It's entirely automatic.

    Every time a new key is imported, it's tested against all encrypted files which we don't know the key for yet.

    Every time a new encrypted file is imported, it's tested against all keys in the database.
