Because it doesn't use ASN information. These IPs are collected through various methods and, unlike ASN, actually indicate what they're connecting with, and include hundreds of thousands of proxies which you're not going to filter out with ASN information.

edit: before u mention caching results from ur api as the reason for the low lookup requests, many people have a much higher volume than that and you only offer 1 plan before having to reach out to your sales rep
Should you have taken an extra minute to look at the linked site, you'd have seen that none of the actual data is ASN based. In fact, ASN information is supplementary and there for extra guidance, as well as the labeling. Building a large database of mapped IP addresses as well as keeping proxy providers up-to-date isn't exactly the cheapest process. However, the results work well enough to power RuneLocus for the past months which "have changed the way the toplist looks entirely".

The "pathethic" 200 lookups a month are, as with any new product, subject to change. I'll look at what I can reasonably change it to without becoming unsustainable.

sure, i didn't really look into it aside from this thread. you were pretty vague on what exactly this service is doing. anyway, that does sound pretty expensive. do you have a list of proxies/vpn providers you currently support?

Well, to protect the integrity of the service I can't give a list of things that are detected (otherwise people know what to use!) but I can reassure you that nearly any VPN provider you'll find that people actually use is supported, and a total of 2.3M IP addresses from various providers.
