What happened to the source used for this rsps once it went offline?

Some of the pics on this rsps were faked and weren't from this rsps, but yeah, it got a lot of players when it was out at first, then died off to about 10-20 average online before it went offline. I played the hell out of it.
Have you heard of RuneRebels? Been online for 8 years. early 06 remake. Still active/updated and has a few players too.
