That player count thing you got goin on your forums might not be the best idea. If no one is online and people see that, they're going to be demotivated by the fact that no one is online to play with or talk to or receive help from. Should potentially add more content. I learned from my mistakes of just fixing known bugs and hosting. You see people saying that they hate to see the same thing just being uploaded, fixed some minor things, and then hosting. Because it's true. It's boring. You hop on and you do the exact same thing on most servers that are upload and host. There's nothing actually keeping them around except maybe if they see new interfaces or something customized. But eventually that dies out. Take Simplicity for example. When it was released it was something new, had some interesting content, and large playerbase. Now everyone has it or is using it and its boring. That's basically what's going on with the majority of servers that are upload and host. Nothing is actually put into the server.

I spent a whole month in beta on my server fixing all the bugs, attempting to add somewhat new content like OSRS items or showing off customs that were prebuilt into the upload. Didn't help at all. You might get some players who are either 1. Staff Hungry or 2. Generally dedicated players to a new server. But the second they see that its not going to amount to anything, they'll leave. It's the cruel and unfortunate truth. I am a victim of this truth and I'm going to tell you, it tears you apart. Because all of that time, all of the dedication you put in, all of the long hours of night you stayed up to "finish that one last thing," doesn't matter. Just my opinion and experience. Learn from me.
