Your typical player will have some difficulty even getting those scripts to run
Seeing as how they require some pretty hefty Python dependencies (Jupyter, Tesseract) the average Windows user or anybody lacking access to a good package manager will probably have a hard time bootstrapping an environment capable of executing them
But yes botting is rather easy on any RuneScape server and exists in a few forms specifically forScapeRune462 servers. Another one is https://gitlab.com/branon/SRi which requires a handful of Pascal-based dependencies. Again, I doubt (m)any players have ever deployed this software successfully
Assuming for any reason that there are no bots on a RuneScape server is pure folly. What was your thought process for arriving at this conclusion?
I don't see how this is a bad thing. These developers are playing the long game, and have been (more or less) consistently active for those five years, which is an impressive track record for any server, especially one with a low player count
Anybody who wasn't the real deal would have given up long ago
I firmly believe ScapeRune will be around for many more years, and once the maintainers start gunning for exposure the only halfway valid negative criticism people have been parroting (low player count) won't be valid anymore
True you are 100% correct this is legit not the only bot that scaperune has
I mean this is a reflection bot that Richard1992 made and it has been working since day 1.
You can't even hide it from moderators too because even there own player mod bots this server which I find funny
consistently active? Scaperune just got started on again because of calvin & pat other then that this project would be dead in the ditch already. Pat & calvin were planning on working on there own remake because of the lack of work from thing1 and michael, and all the bugs that keep happening 24/7. Once one thing is fixed 20000 more bugs keep appearing which is clearly known since you play this. Also I don't care that thing1 is busy with work or wte life it shouldn't take a year for a resizable client in the state its in
Yeah, we still mean it. Does it look like its completed yet? Getting closer .
This is not true at all and you out of anyone should know better considering we speak often. I have been working on the fullscreen client along with core changes behind the scenes for some time. Throughout this entire project, I have never once stopped working on it. We just get tired of the negativity so do most of the developing behind the scenes at this point. Michael never quit either, he has been working on the website. Pat was not working on his own remake. Calvin was not working on his own remake either. They were simply playing with the idea of building an OSRS server. That is beside the point anyways, they can do whatever they wish to do and ScapeRune can take as long to develop as we want it to. You aren't in our team chats, you aren't in our planning, I don't think anyone outside of our team has any idea what the team does as far as communication goes and I don't think it matters if they do. We have made it this far and will make it further.
I'll prioritize life/work/school/whatever, it's not any concern of yours. I'll take as long as I want and it shouldn't be an issue to you, I don't see you paying for any services or the definition of our success being a result of your opinion being valid. We don't owe you or anyone else anything. You have your own server to worry about, hopefully you work well under the stress and expectations of everyone because it will show up for you shortly.
What is important to us and this project is to have a complete remake. We are non profit, we are 5 guys, and we are friends who do this as a recreational project. To receive so much discouragement from the community continues to baffle me. For those of you who support us or who provide criticism that is actually constructive you have our thanks (it is part of what keeps us going) .
Yeah, it’s far from complete. My point stands. This was never meant to be one of those “Ok let’s work on it for a year, advertise heavy, rake in the money and shut down in a few months, and start a new one” servers (a majority of them! Especially made by people who flame this project, ironically!)
There are 127 quests to fully complete with no shortcuts. Real dialogue, real facial expressions, real cutscenes. It takes time to make that.
Obviously it’s going to take a long time, we made the project knowing this.
Find me someone who writes quests exactly as they are in rs for 5 years without taking a break, and I will bow to them, because that man does not exist. We take breaks too.
True but when I see calvin complaining how u do nothing but waste time on that client or michael not updating the bot for 8 months because of inactive? Yeah it seems like your doing a lot bud.
Idc that you work you should always prioritize work/school over this dumb rsps stuff because rsps is not paying the Bill's for u.
I support your project I just wish you guys would advertise it already so it's a non a dead meme like it's been for the last 3 years. If I wanted this to fail I would of because we already had this conversation. I agreed I wouldn't do what I did and I still hold my word because I know for a fact you still haven't fixed the major flaws. Gl with ur project I guess hopefully it gets advertised one day
