Since you have decided to debate this further I will give you more feedback and constructive criticism that may or may not help you make Scaperune an actual success. There is plenty there and I will furthermore give more.Quote:

- STOP debating, customer service should be your main objective. Try to understand someone's views before assuming anyone is deliberately bashing you.
- Keep this as a project, instead of a release. Hype up the server once it has been completed. Advertising is so important and managing funds toward these advertisements is a priority.
- Replicating Rs2 without any sort of improvements may be your downfall long-term, not having Quality of Life implementations that OSRS fine tuned will be an extreme challenge to overcome. Ie; minimap orbs, scroll wheel zoom, etc.
- The only reason you have maintained the 5-20 active players throughout the many years of development is due to nostalgia, not any sort of improvements/new content to Rs2, etc. How do you honestly plan to compete?
- My "p2p" technique is far from just dividing a player-base.. what ever analogy you perceive this from is so wrong. I can recall purchasing membership as a kid with little to no cost and enjoying LOADS more content, membership opened up loads more content. How else was Jagex supposed to sustain itself? They literally created a self sustaining game due to membership. But instead RSPS's give you ALL of the content upfront and they expect to survive off of "donations" which go toward p2w type content.. ridiculous.
If you want to debate further let me know, I'm personally sick of trying. You have already admitted that this whole release of Scaperune is something conjured as a college-student's side project, no real intentions of furthering itself, etc.
If I typo'd anything it's because I'm using mobile, sorry.
1. I'll try and re-read your previous posts as constructive best that I can although I have to admit I have a difficult time. Nothing I can say to this will come off as not debating so I will skip this one altogether.Quote:

2. That is the point of why are aren't advertising, Calvin actually posted under you mentioning that and he was flamed. This project only lives in the advertisement section because it is against the rules (if I recall correctly) to host a project in the Project section and it was migrated here when we did our open Beta. Advertising is important and so is having more of the end game content complete before doing so. Sounds like we are in agreement in this part and there is simply a misunderstanding.
3. This is one of those things that tells me that you haven't kept up with the project at all which makes me question your credibility about some of this... We have been working on fullscreen publicly for some time now with an ETA of this month release, our client has had scroll wheel zoom for over a year, we have had operating the camera via the middle mouse wheel for maybe three years, complete gameframe switching, etc. In our launcher alone (the first thing you see when booting the game) there is a list of features such as these that are optional. If there is specific QOL you would like to see please suggest it, I am always open to things that are optional and do not specifically affect gameplay with an advantage or ruin the vanilla aspect for other players.
4. Who am I competing against? OSRS becomes less similar to us every day. The whole point of this project is for nostalgia or for people who believe the original game was more balanced. We may do a second world with a more diverse focus in the future when the game is more complete (DMM, PK focus, etc) solely for fun but this has been undecided as it includes larger budget. It makes no sense to me to be creating custom content or pulling in content from OSRS when we don't even have the complete game from 2007 finished yet (which is the real goal of the project).
5. So you are telling me if I tell all of the players who currently play that they either have to start paying or become F2P only that it will "help" things? I disagree honestly and can openly discuss it with you if you wish. I personally believe it would probably look something like 1/4 of them become member, realize that the player base is now split in half, and quit. The remaining F2P people would quit because they are locked in F2P. Even at best if the 1/4 didn't quit, we are now having to fund a second VPS. Why would we want to take on twice of the economical responsibility when having 1/4 of our player base being members wouldn't even fund the first VPS? Realistically speaking, hosting two VPS a month (for free/members worlds) would cost more than if every player on ScapeRune paid membership in the first place. I personally think that free access to members content is a feature that makes us stand out compared to OSRS and is motivational for people who are new to the project. It also helps us find bugs having more people test the majority of the games content.
Goals for SR furthering itself look something like this: Complete content and publicly advertise heavily when the budget and game is ready. It has been mentioned that this was my college project. Now that I am out of college I continue to work on it however, I don't see how the project isn't furthering itself. I think it just isn't furthering itself as fast as you may like? The pressure put on us developers in so many different directions makes a project like this very difficult as short handed as we are, we are doing the best that we can. It is honestly a miracle that we still cba to do this as many years have passed with how poorly we have been treated from the community (this is not directed at you, just in general).
Thanks for giving me some of your time, I understand how painful typing on mobile can be. You are welcome to join the Discord if you truly are passionate about the project, perhaps speaking with the community that we do have would fine tune some of the ideas and build off of something that can be put into place and very useful. I don't think the things you are saying are necessarily wrong, I think we are both just misunderstood more than not or see areas of the project differently.
I'm very passionate and would love to join the discord. As for the examples I used for QOL I should have did more research and actually tested these features, I just assumed they weren't implemented, so that changes my whole perspective on progressiveness for SR.Quote:

Thank you for replying so diligently and as for the community judging you harshly, not a single one of them has been in any of your shoes, this project alone is a masterpiece it's just extremely underrated.

In other news...
Full Screen Beta
The long awaited fullscreen client is finally here! Much has changed, thus the client is currently in Beta stage. During this Beta stage, the client will connect to a separate world where players can test more freely.

The beta will be hosted on world 2 and is planned to run for a lengthy duration. This world is separate from the main game (world 1) and has increased experience rates to allow players to advance through the game and have a much wider range of things to test. This being said, all players will start fresh with a new account on Tutorial Island. We have not enabled you to skip the tutorial as it's a crucial part of testing. This world will be linked to other world(s) in terms of communication via Private Message and Clan Chat. Experience rates on world 2 are set to 50x and 25x for experience gained from quest rewards.

Well this is a refresher... good to see nothing has changed, remember this everyone "Trump will get re-elected and the world will end before Scaperune amounts to anything" One of my biggest regrets in life is wasting my time on this RSPS because they literally IP ban you if they don't like you.
They've also been working on fullscreen for over a year and it's in beta in 2021
try vscape its x1000 better than this garbQuote:
