    I love this project. I'll never have enough time to play but I have a lot of respect for what you guys have achieved.

    I have one question, what is going to happen if you do finally complete an emulation of RuneScape that you and the team are satisfied with?

    Personally I'd love to see a release of this eventually but the developers have stated that it'll never happen, and I don't blame them.

    It's a shame because on some level it feels like what they've created is doomed to disappear, or languish on a hard drive somewhere. It will surely not be hosted forever.

    Historically the emulation community has been rather secretive with a large portion of its source code. This has always struck me as nonconstructive, the cloak-and-dagger mentality seems to encourage backstabbing or leaking/selling code out from underneath people.

    I understand leeching is a concern but I've always felt that could be defeated by simply not caring about what others do with the source. That's easy for me to say though, if you wrote any significant portion of the code I'm sure you'd feel differently.

    Regardless this team is made up of several very talented developers who have worked quite hard for many years, and if they don't wish to give their source away, I can only respect that decision.

    I think for the moment we should be greatful that ScapeRune exists at all, and that an instance of the server is maintained for the general public to log on and play.

    This is a passion project, we don't really care about the amount of players *at the moment*, because the server is completely non-profit. We will care about player count when our goals are complete, we start advertising, and want a player base.

    I love this server. I just dont have the time to play it basically as a single player game. I wish there either were a lot more players, or a slightly increased exp rate. Like 4x.
