Beating our all time players online at one time by 3, not the biggest amount of players, but still over whelming to see, this tool only records individual IP's, not duplicate accounts (example me on Mod Seren and logged in to Seren is counted as 1 not 2 players).
Additionally;
Today we see big summoning changes;
All special attacks works on Summoning NPC's, including in PvP
Summoning creatures can attack both Players and other mobs if in multiway combat.
Your opponent in the wilderness or fight caves can defeat your summoning creature
If your familiar is a BoB all items will appear on the floor for 60 seconds before appearing to others.
Familiars can't be brought into or summoned in the duel arena.
Previously when an enemy was in the wilderness, the "Attack" option on their familiar did not appear, this has been corrected.
with this change, all bosses can drop a "Mysterious Book" which will unlock Curses. Corpereal Beast and Nex have increased drop rates
So as you've probably noticed, the server hasn't had any major updates in a while.
The most common question I get from Players on both my official Seren Skype account and my personal Skype account is "Well Seren/Dave have you just given up?" and to be honest, I haven't.
To be quite honest to you all, non of the developers (Kit, Influx, Aeon or Gabriel and myself) are not happy with how Seren's initial launch had planned out.
So what can we do about it?
Well, I wouldn't of had the role "Lead Developer" and "Server Consultant" without having plans set, so behind: Kit, Influx, Aeon, Gabriel and yes even Est's back, I've been working a revised server, this revised server has been been worked on since [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (any undocumented updates since this will be included as well)
So what happens now?
It will still be called Seren and all your character files will be safe, so don't worry about that , basically to be honest, I've been working my ass off, sleepless nights, lots of energy drinks (and alcoholic beverages for those days I'm working on it in a Skype call!)
What's the changes to it?
I guess we'll start off with Player based objects and regions
Cannons will no longer stop rotating but continue firing when someone else enters the region, it will do what it's supposed to and continue rotating
Hunter Traps are now recognized by the Server
You will no be required to relog at some doors that do not open
When you cannon "disappears" when in fact it has decayed will prompt a message in red text (I honestly have no idea why this wasn't added before, but I'll take liability for this, I should have checked).
Skilling:
RuneCrafting
Abyss will now be used as the main RuneCrafting method, with the exception of a Spirit Graahk (which will teleport you to the Astral Altar)
Will now award RuneCrafting Tokens, which can be spent on teletab teleports (10 Tokens each) or RuneCrafting robes (100 Tokens Each)
Mining
Inferno adze was adjusted to having a chance to smelt the ore you're mining (without needing coal)
Combat
NPC vs NPC was improved
Your familiar will automatically attack the entitity you're attacking, granted your in a multi-way combat area (or if Wilderness, in the correct wilderness levels).
Magic
Damage increase if wearing certain items, these are some of the items:
Zuriels equipment
Staff of Light
Mage's Book
Arcane Stream
Ranged
Corrected Ranged max hit formula, 99 Range, full void ranged, with rune c'bow and eagle eye, your max hit will be 68 with Dragon Bolt (e) special, previously Dragon Bolt specs weren't up-to par with what they should of been, this is why I chose this as an example.
Will list more updates as I write them, for now there is no ETA on this update.
