Hello everyone!
My name is Incipio, and I'm here to introduce my new server, Runecity! Nowadays, many RuneScape servers are extremely alike. Most of them are "unique" only because they have a different name and a changed home. Even top servers, (not trying to bash, I personally play a few of the top servers) are somewhat similar. They may have some extra RS features, such as extra bosses, special PK boxes, etc. However, the basic idea is always the same in RuneScape Private Servers. Join, login, train at rock crabs, spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours maxing all your combat skills, then PK and skill for the rest of your life in that community.
With RuneCity, my goal was to create something unique, not necessarily RuneScape-like. For example, I only worked a little with skills, because in my eyes, no one really cares if you have working Bolt Crafting or perfect combat formulas. I mean, honestly, have you ever gone on a server and thought, "OMG! I can make ruby bolts!" A few minor errors aren't really a big deal. No one cares if woodcutting is a too fast or trees tend to give one or two more logs than they should.
Thus, I decided to make something that's not necessarily perfect, but fun to play. That's how I came up with the idea for jobs. There are currently 4 jobs (with one under beta testing and one under development), though more are to come! With jobs comes a whole new line of fun; a casino, storyline, job-specific NPCs, job bases, etc. So, I have made something only RS-like to the extent that it has everything a normal RSPS will have. To sum it up, RuneCity may not be a perfect RS clone, but it is a lot of fun to play!
See you around!
Incipio
Important note: RuneCity is still a work in progress. All suggestions are welcome. Some things, you may find confusing (for example, no ::help as of 3.30.12. However, I will try my best to fix things up ASAP. By the way, :
hop is for shops)
There are MANY updates in store for RuneCity. The main reasons I'm posting this advertisement now are 1) I bought a VPS so I might as well get players, and 2) I need to see what people want me to change.
The most obvious changes required will be related to jobs (some are way overpowered, notable level 10 crackhead which can easily spec 10x in one fight). However, I don't want to make one job too weak so I'll wait for people to give feedback. Of course, any changes made to jobs will be accompanied by a free opportunity to change your job if you don't like the new updates.
I also have many other things in development. Most of these are 25-70% done. These soon-to-come updates include a casino (instead of command based gambling), job zones (private places for each job), job quests (for easier job EXP), a general storyline, and storymode (where you can't trade or do much else except train until you finish the story. After you finish the entire storyline, you get some awesome items and stats
)
