It allows it actually. all you need to do is make a contact server, which sends if player is logged in/else. this is how jagex does it. they send a opcode, then they send state, then if pm, they send it with from to message. and the message is gathered.

Everytime I think of playing I remember the customs and step away.

Has grown incredibly since the days of Chachi, unfortunately the quality of gameplay has stayed the same. The updates they've done are very good, but they haven't taken the time to fix up things that would make the server so much better than it already is.
