If you're asking if sound makes questing worth doing; then no.

sound does work and lots of servers have it. Maybe YOUR sound doesn't.
The only time sound is required for quests is when you're following slayermusiq's guides.

LOL true. But what player is going to do a full quest in a private server anyways?

I guess you mean for more of an emulative experience. To answer your question - probably not.
Although having sound effect support implemented does add to the immersion and feel of the server, the amount of sound effects that are actually incorporated into quests in the real game is quite minimal compared to other content.
Plus, a very small amount of players (probably around 5% from experience) will actually even bother to play with sounds on.
Not to mention questing on a RSPS is pretty niche... it takes a special kind of person to want to 1:1 quests with similar rewards to the original

    Spoiler for wat:

In my opinion, Sound Effects being in quests do help with immersion, but with OSRS I really havnt felt the need to quest on a server for the sake of nostalgia.

I’m going to talk at length about how Rsps Sounds has been egging on negative externalities in the form of evasion, collusion, and corruption. In short, this is not a letter for children or the overly sensitive. In the rest of this letter, I will use history and science (in the Hegelian sense) to prove that it is not beyond the capabilities of government leaders and institutions to internalize the understanding that Rsps Sounds’s behavior falls short of simple human decency. I have come to know Rsps Sounds’s chums too well not to feel the profoundest disgust for their unambitious, self-satisfied zingers—unequivocally an instructive warning for the future. I’ll go over that again: Rsps Sounds’s gloves will really come off once he manages to find enough slimy Zendiks to help him cause an increase in disease, jingoism, crime, and vice. Now that’s a strong conclusion to draw just from the evidence I’ve presented in this letter so let me corroborate it by saying that I have always been an independent thinker. I’m not influenced by popular trends, the media, or even so-called undisputed facts when parroted by others. Maybe that streak of independence is what first enabled me to see that I will stop at nothing to combat the pompous ideology of elitism that has infected the minds of so many disgraceful tinhorns. My resolve cannot fully be articulated, but it is unyielding. As evidence, consider that I don’t care what others say about Rsps Sounds. They're still quisquilious and hoggish, and they intends to crush its hecklers in both body and spirit. That’s all I have to say. Thanks for letting me express my feelings.
Thank you for your insightful post on this matter!

If you mean voiceover like rs3 has then no, they're a nuisance lol. Space bar and numbers 1-5 all the way through the dialogues.
