Hey guys, what's your preferred IDE for RSPS?

Personally, I've been using VSC since it's robust enough and has plenty useful extensions to support Java development. The reason I ask is because in almost every thread related to dev env's, IntelliJ and Eclipse are the most frequently mentioned. Not many people seem to mention VSC much despite it's versatility and small size. Figured there might be a good reason

This topic basically sums it all up : https://www.tabnine.com/blog/intellij-vs-vscode/

VSC is lightweight, so it can be very useful if you program in various languages often and don't mind configuring things for each new language.
IntelliJ might be the optimal solution if your primary focus is Java and/or Kotlin development as it offers a much more focussed set of tools for people who work with that specific language.

VC is good at being a jack of all trades but I try to use the best tool for every job. For Java and Kotlin, anything other than IntelliJ is wasting precious development time imo.

I would agree with blakeman, IntelliJ just has everything ready to go and is relatively lightweight compared to Eclipse or Netbeans.
The benefit of using one editor for all my different projects becomes outweighed by the need to configure so many plugins and settings for each, imho. I do love VSCode for web projects though, I lean towards Webstorm (the web version of IntelliJ), purely for its powerful search features and overall layout.

Deffo not lightweight compared to Eclipse and Netbeans but yes Intellij is the best.
