But for some very odd reason, they earn 10x more than regular servers.

Why are Custom servers so popular?
In my subjective opinion, I believe that you must be born with a brain inaccuracy syndrome to use and enjoy this type of server.
I will present below what annoys me in this type of servers.
- Over 23940 Donator ranks.
- new skills without future, which don't make the slightest sense, don't match the default skills to use resources or gain them.
- New unique items such as rainbow twisted bows, pink torva, fucking transparent mech cannon as vehicle which is flying above JaGeX Headquarters.
- 9393417 Max hit
- Neglect of the PvP scene
- Graphic problems of inexperienced developers who take on something that should not arise: (dude wtf is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) or ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) - Does every custom item really have to have such a fucked up look of the slot and fuck the shit whole interface?
- For fuck sake - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]? It's like RSC loading RS3. - If you care about it, do it correctly so that all models and objects work together. Do not add OpenGL hardcoded version.
- Dude, is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]divine spirit shield or Fire cape shield?
- Why OSRS loading RS3? [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Probably there would be more...
However,
I will present below what I like in this type of servers.
- As the owners can manipulate the player to spend every penny, he began to rob the family to finance his ruler.
- Just download the server, change the name and you can host, in the blink of an eye you'll be $ 10k richer in a month. (fuck ruse)

Probably 40%? of the custom server players we had on Imagine never played RS.
Did 40% ppl achieve anything on the Imagine server?

They should never exist in place.
I always hated 317's, those servers are all shit to me and no matters what they have coded. I hope they go extinct.
There's multiple ways to do a custom rsps, what you're displaying is the majority of custom servers which are terribly developed and give the whole custom rsps scene a bad name. If done correctly they could be nice, if you have things outside of the runescape theme (pikachu, ak-47, etc) even if it looks amazing it just isn't right and never will be.
On a side note they can be a lot of fun still, they usually make a lot more money than regular servers, the ideas are limitless so it's a bit easier to be different from other servers.
Also why fuck ruse, custom servers were around way before ruse. I actually created the first full on custom ruse serverso fuck me if anything
