A good reason would be that back then nobody really thought to be archiving all the cache revisions for the future. Or, if they did, they are long gone because it was nearly a decade ago.
Server-sided its 317 from what I know. We are using the 317 deob, but not the actual cache.
Maybe because that was so long ago, remember private servers didn't become big until 2006-2007. So its not like people kept a cache archive for every release back then.
Also, the client saves bandwidth by only loading what needs to be loaded, so we don't get 100% of the cache when we load RuneScape, we get a fraction (else RS3 would stab us a 5 GB cache) of it.
I want to know who originally thought of downloading and uploading a fuking client.jarba and not consider to upload the cache itself..
