    I prefer x10 or max x100... The ideal is between them somewhere IMO.

    As said by Chris Fletcher, rate's like 1000x are ridiculously fast, and take away any feeling of achievement you'd want to get upon achieving level 99 in any skill. Personally I'd aim for around 30x RuneScape on an old-school server, but ultimately the decision lies with you.

    I'd say a good rate lies between 17.5 and 37.5, with probably a maximum of 40. This enlightens the players' gaming experience by having a rather swift way to train, but still challenges them to achieve the high goals.

    Another idea, of course, would be to make the rate depend on the current experience level of the skill...

    I would go for 1000, higher than that just seems too much.
