Thread: Stop with the RS2 Remakes

Hi there, this will most likely get closed and I'll probably get an infraction. You guys can do whatever you want with your time and make whatever type of server that you would like but this is just my two cents.

I had a RS2 remake a few months back that lasted for 8 months, at first I had an average of around 5 players online, slowly made my way up to 35 then the whole player count crashed. I never really had many players on it, and I would like to warn you that people will post great feedback but to be honest playing a remake does get boring a lot faster because the player isn't playing unique content. This is also damaging on the developers side because you can't create your ideas because your just mimicking another developer (JaGEx).

To be honest, your just wasting your time developing a remake because after a few months of devoting your time to developing it, you realize that you want to do something but you can't without ruining your project. Also wasn't the original point of RSPS to make your own version of RuneScape (besides players making fake bank videos and testing early macro software)?

I'm sorry if in anyway I hurt your feelings but this is my opinion on things. In case you don't know who I am, I was the owner of RuneMud (very large 2005 remake) which got little to no attention in the advertisements section contradicting the high attention to the projects board now known as the never released remakes board.

After learning from my past experiences with following JaGEx around like a little kid holding his mom's hand I've begun working on a new project (started in feburary) and I'm having much more fun making a server that's completely unique and is nothing like RuneScape.
