I have noticed in the recent updates that has come to runescape(free trade & wildy) That a lot of fake private servers have popped up with viruses in them. This included a javaDB as a webclient and usually a keylogger or RAT. This has resulted in a lot of members of the runescape community not trusting ANY private servers. Although a quite bit of them a legitimate. I am wondering your opinion on this major blow to the RSPS community, will it perhaps lead to the end of it? The community itself is depleting rapidly and I am sure it has gone down a tremendous amount then what it was before the updates of free trade.

It's always been like this really. Not just recently when wilderness and free trade came back.
The only difference is that people are now actually putting effort into their fake RSPS.
From what I heard, one of the top servers on runelocus was infected. The other thing is that there are ALOT more fake private servers. This really compromises the security of other private servers considering that the more and more likely someone is to get infected, the more likely he is to not bother with private servers all-together.
As has been mentioned, malicious content has been and will be a part of private servers for a while. No, infected clients and servers probably won't be the "end of private servers".
