I've seen some interest recently in how people can get better with Java and programming for RSPS.
I've said it before, but I'll say it here too. One of the best ways to learn this stuff is by working with programmers that are better than you are. They don't have to know everything, but if they are better than you and you are working with them, most of the time they will teach you and you will learn from their code.
This is one of the best ways to learn because you get hands-on experience working with and writing code, and you interact with a person that can answer your questions and explain things to you. Most of the time they are willing to help you out, because you are working with them in the first place.
That's all.![]()
rest in peace Qemist, Izzy, TeChNo PuNk, Impulser, & bootnecklad

That's true. But also even if you're working alone, for as long as you're trying and doing something yourself, you learn quickly too. I can vouch for that, as an example myself working on a map editor taught me so much about jagex file formats and rs2 clients and I really haven't been working on it for long time. It's just the matter of reading the code and understanding it, instead of copy/ pasting. I'm sure at least 70%+ of rune-server members don't read the code, they just use tutorials and copy/ paste everything, that's why they don't learn and never will.
Although your statement isn't always relevant. I won't call names, but there are some people who are smart but they just won't explain to you because they expect you to understand that as in their opinion it's something everyone should know and such. They just tell you what to do or give you some hints but they won't sit down and explain so you fully understand. It's probably a better idea to work with someone who isn't the smartest but knows enough about programming/ rsps, because they will be more likely to explain to you, whereas those really smart people with their egos will consider you being 'noob' and hide so they don't have to teach you.

so true blake, i learned a lot when i was working better programmers then me![]()
This is true, and I have yet to try it, because of the fact that I can't find anyone that has the same objectives/view points as I do.

I almost disagree, if the person who is working with a better coder doesn't give a shit or isn't interested, they most likely won't learn anyway. Some information might be retained out of sheer osmosis, but I think having an interest and wanting to do everything possible to learn is the best way. Because with this drive you will take advantage of every possible thing you know, and if you come across something you don't understand you are forced to research it (and while doing this it seems you find other cool and useful information aswell). Just my opinion, not hating on you or anything.

I agree with this. Most of the stuff i learn i learn it from HcoJustin.
