Stop Private Server Cheaters.

As i have acknowledge on half of the servers that are out are delta, which means they did the half assed way of stopping the starter transferring cheaters.


One way has been done and is running you must play the game for a period of time before trading (2speced)
Another way is implementing a mini-tutorial quest at the beginning, (Starter Island) to make it more complicated to transfer starter items.

Both of those ways are wack. Waist of time and pisses people off.

What other ways are there that does not require effort by the players(quest) but does not disable a feature in the game(trading)?

No trading to the same ip?

Don't have a huge starter that makes the economy shit?

No trading to the same IP thats brilliant ha more ideas would be suffice. But the idea of it is to stop ruining the economy. Yes your starter might be 10k but it takes about 2 people and 30 minutes to turn that 10k into 1m-10m easily but mass making accounts and transferring it.
(not giving ideas ha) but the owners of servers need to know how to do it efficiently without ruining the game.

I will soon add no trading to same IP's to server. And let them do shit like that, just making them look like idiots getting 10m on a private server by trading 10k to each other, shows that they can't handle the RSPS world.

Its not that they cant handle the RSPS world its just lazy cheaters who like to do this to get stuff easy. (90% of the rsps playing population) that is why they left runescape to come play something easier.


@BFMV its not the starter that gives you that amount as i just said to austin it can be 10k and people will still cheat.

Give them a wooden sword and a piece of shrimp and their on their way.

Wood shield and bronze shit sir.

Make training arrows like how jagex do?

and how are the training arrows used? i do not recall what the effects were?
like make them equiptable for levels under 25?

Use some new item, ppl get like 2k training arrows, and make the arrows untradeable. Add them training bow too. :) If all starter item are training stuff (untreadeable) then they can't make profit from starter kits.)

coins.... runes... armor... all that stuff can be traded. But bronze or iron armor.. its the cash and runes. that are the issue.

I might even just block IP's from trading. cause that way they cant trade starters.. but then when they play the game and make a pure or something they wont be able to trade stuff over...

But if they get a friend to trade stuff to and they split it they will be able to still trade starters.

Don't add cash to them, and make training runes (untradeable runes) what can use instead of all other runes (like runes in minigames at real RS). It's easy to code, and a good stuff to stop this problem.

Yeah but if you add it then it prevents higher level accounts to trade items to their pures.

just add in mysql so they haveto confirm email etc before getting to log onto their acc.

Thats not a bad idea, if i was any good with creation of mysql stuff.
If i did anything mysql id ask martin or follow his tutorial on doing the sql stuff.

Integration to a forum, so players have to register before playing.

Then I'll so that the only thing you can't transfer is money :)

Then I'll make it so that if you're connected on the same IP, you can't transer money :P

But what if they are giving money to their skiller or pker account from their money making account?

Haha but that isn't fair, it must be fair to all users to be able to trade for a good reason.

so they need spend roughly 20 minutes before they can visit the main game.

20 minutes for what 5k-100k isn't worth it.

Err, 1 starter per ip? Best i can suggest you.

Integration with forum is a good idea, and if you had a tutorial island the length of the original - with a semi-decent reward then you should be fine. Players should not be handed a lump sum of money straight away, but earn it.

Forum Integration solves the issue. And tutorial island is what i said not to suggest, as its a private server not runescape. Might do a fun event to earn your starter, like you start out with a book and a sword and a shield bronze to start the game and the a semi quest called Starter, and all it is, is running around the map learning how to do things to receive a REAL starter once its finished. learning how to do each skill etc.. then you receive the real starter.

No yours made it take longer to get. If all you're offering for a starter is 10k and some basic stuff like trout, who's gonna bother.

The people who play? as they will get 1-2 people to help and within 20 minutes they will have a million or two million.

Give them bronze axe/net and 100gp ohh and don't miss the goodluck letter. :)

Make a small tutorial island and give them like 5k when they complete it.

OR

Forum integration.

Haha the goodluck letter ill remember that.

What im thinking about doing is giving them a bronze sword, shield, and 500 GP. There will be a starter mini-challenge to get your full starter but you do not have to do it. there for they are able to still play the game.
