    Alright lets face it. All the current ones are very awful. Delta uses a cfg file and its just awful IMO. Devolution uses 2d arrays, its good but lets think.. evertime you add to it you are adding more to the loop, eventually it's going to be ENORMOUS.

    What are your suggestions to Effecient NPC loot/Drop systems. Take into considerations that some have no base drop(bones). while Some have multiple such as dragons. Also no server has a working wealth, so that would also be a nice feature.

    its good but lets think.. evertime you add to it you are adding more to the loop, eventually it's going to be ENORMOUS.

    What do you think is going to happen to the HashMap? Bear in mind that a HashMap is little more then an array.

    Or just have 5 - 10 arrays for general combat levels with ALL misc items, then add specialist items to particular npcs.

    I use arrays. I have a general array for coins, herbs, ore, gems etc. Then another array for NPC specific drops, works fine.

    Yes, but each npc has a specific drop rate at which each one will/can be dropped.

    Loading it through a configuration file is just fine? It's easy, lightweight I think, and your server doesn't need to be compiled to edit the drops?

    If it's messy, just rewrite it & make it not so messy?
