Well, basically, I've grown old of playing private servers, and grew out of RuneScape a LONG time ago; What I'm basically trying to get at, is private servers are going no where, I've been in denial about this for awhile now, but I've finally come to face the facts.
After reading lots of topics in advertise section, downloads section, tutorial section, almost every section to due with Private server's; The advertise section is full of nothing but DeltaScape sources that are the least bit editted and are just "pk servers" that last a few days then die out, it won't be long and they will be all emulous base sources with no edits, they'll all say "come join my perfect source, it has 100% dueling, the best combat ever, pwns deltascape blah blah blah"
Then theres the download section, where everyone just waits until someone releases a "good" source that they've worked there butt's off on, then everyone just leechs it, takes full credits, and hosts it saying they did it all.
Then every once and awhile someone releases a really good base, but leaves a few things out purposly hoping it won't be leeched, and will be used for beneficial purposes; For example emulous was released by Hayzie, but he left out specials purposly, thats what kept the "noobs" from leeching it, and left the real coders to benefit from it; But then somone released specials in the tutorial section, then somone added it to the emulous source, and released it, now everyone will use this source, its going to be the new DeltaScape.
Basically, what I'm trying to get at, is, all sources now - a - days are the same, or really close to the same, everyone hosts nothing but "pk servers" based off either DeltaScape or Emulous, after playing quite a few of them, i've grown bored of Private servers.
Mainly because the economy's are horrible, the staff's abuse, and all there is to do is pk, and most of the time its "spawn" servers, which means when you finally do pk somone from all the people pjing\looting, you gain nothing, as it can just be spawned.
there will NEVER be a "Perfect Private Server" as i've come to realize this, EVEN if you do some how make a server just like "REAL" RuneScape, with all bugs and glitches fixed, there will always either be an abusive staff, bad economy, or someone there to ruin it.
So, this is my farewell to Private Servers, i may stop in every now and then to see how everythings going with RSPS, but other then that i'm done, its no longer any fun, BUT it was fun while it lasted.

Just because my post count isn't as high as yours, doesn't mean anything, notice your "join" date and then notice mine, considering i've joined awhile before you, and your post count is higher then mine, seems a bit strange now doesn't it?
Not calling you a spammer or anything, just simply stateing, just because somones post count isn't high, doesn't mean they haven't been here longer then you, nor does it mean they are less intelligent.

I disagree with you it is possible for someone to create a good server. Palidino76's Battlescape is really successful. Just because 90% of the community's leech delta and other sources doesn't mean a server can't overcome bugs, glitches, abusers, and crashers.
Amg im making a pserver thats got everything REALLY like runescape. plus im making it from scratch.... got tired of the gay people who make sucky ones lol. im planning to work on it for a few years before i put it up publicly.
There has been succesfull private servers.. Dodian, BattleScape and others, but anyways, I do agree with you..
Look at the fact of basing private servers on the 317 renevision, which was released by WinterLove like long time ago..
If the community took some time to learn basic java and stuff, they'd be able to create better servers for sure, I believe that java is the main problem now a days..
I'm not saying that I'm great at java or anything, but at least I know the basics..
I agree 150%. I left here a while ago because there was nothing worth looking at going on - I came back 2-3 weeks ago, and absolutely nothing had changed. The only things that happen around here are somebody releases an okay-good tutorial, everybody leeches it, says it's there, spams the advertise section with their "server" and then denies all possible leeched links.
