That's still good, there's other ways to majority reduce memory consumption too. If you're not using sound effects (NOT MIDIS). Don't load any of those into memory on startup either. When the client starts up sound effects (1000-2000) are decoded and cached in uncompressed WAV format.
Originaly the 317 client only caches them on startup if you choose high memory but most clients out there are on high by default though they never use sounds.
Sound effects can also be loaded on-demand. RuneScape optimized this later down the road in newer clients.Code:if (!lowMemory) {
drawLoadingText(90, "Unpacking sounds");
byte[] data = sounds.getEntry("sounds.dat");
Track.load(new Buffer(data)); // caches them

I might be missing something but when you clear a bunch of files it doesn't remove the info from .dat? If I clear the model cache then re-add all the models the cache after is much bigger.
