    Update: I will be working on this from now on: RuneHD - Old School Edition (Unity3D)

    Hello Rune-Server, Yesterday I was wondering what Runescape would be like with Unity3D's rendering capabilities, And here's what I have so far!

    Personally I think the engine is looking the best it ever has, What do you guys think of the DOF?
    Also some areas are quite bright, some are quite dim, It's hard to find a balance with the lighting settings

    PS: I only have HD textures enabled for certain textures, e.g leaves (I haven't added all leaves yet which is why some trees aren't textured). Also height offsets are still an issue, If anyone has a fix please hit me up.
    Oh and leaf textures do have working alphas, I just forgot to enable it in these photos.

    Turns out (For anyone that actually cares) I was using a ushort array to store texture triangle coordinates, this resulted in Square rooting a negative number which resulted in NaN errors.





    As you can see the wood textures on stools etc are now actually mapped/positioned correctly.
    Also the walls don't look triangulated anymore (Like in the previous update)

    As you can see it looks pretty nice (There are a few artifacts I need to fix, such as incorrect textures on roofs etc)
    I plan on upgrading the 317 cache to something a little nicer tomorrow (Most likely 667 or 718).
    There are multiple directions I may eventually go with this project, such as:

    • A Map and Model Viewer/Editor.
    • A Client to connect to a 317 source.
    • A playable server/game.


    But for now I plan on creating a playable server (I will write the server from scratch in C#) and will hopefully have a website + client up and running in a little while!
    I will post regular updates in this thread.
