Adding NPC and Items

Hello, I’m basically new to 317 servers haven’t touched 317 in many years so I was hoping someone would be able to help me:hurr:
Basically, how do I add npcs just pure cache instead of adding code within Itemdef.java (client sided) or npcdef (client sided)

I’ve been looking at some servers and decompiled their clients and noticed in their itemdef they don’t have the items specified in those java files but yet they’re still within the game?

I am also using Ruse base I believe

even i don't know anything about coding but wtf are u saying adding npcs in itemdef?

Find/make a tool to edit the definitions held in the cache if you don't want too hard code them, you can do the same for Objects/Items and probably a few other things

What tools do you use for 317? Could you provide me in the right direction, sorry to ask for spoonfeed man just not a fan of hardcoding this shit be much cleaner via cache

The source I have currently have npcs hard coded via the npcdef file... that’s what I am saying aha. I don’t want to do that

Just write them to your definitions files, scape-editor can do it i believe

Just look at the readvalues of either npc/items and write the data as opposed to reading and then append your edits.
