Yeah, I must be too much a product of the Enlightenment to want to create a world where people don't feel as if man controls its own destiny. The Witcher was a big inspiration for showing that you can create a vibrant fantasy world without the cop-out of "it's magical because the gods made it so". It would've been a good idea to look into Shinto for some inspiration on spiritualism and rituals, and how that can shape the role of magic and prayer.
Here's the link to the quests! I wrote a huge explanation of the references, but the fuckin' forum fucked some of the links to some YouTube videos and tried embedding them. When I removed the links and saved the edit, it erased everything written in the post... In short, the server was gonna be called Rune Saga because there'd be a few huge quest lines (sagas) in which you explore the lore of the land. The one island that's on the map now was much bigger at first, and some of the quests reflect that in how they play out. They can always be adapted and/or intertwined with the mainland. A lot of smaller quests were meant to elicit the silly humour you get in a number of RS' quests. If you dig any of them, but don't get the references, feel free to ask about them in this thread and I'll explain them! Otherwise, feel free to use any of them as a starting point for your own ideas!
