I don't use 667 for the purely due to its size... 602 has all the crap most people want, curse anims, claws etc... and they probably don't use 50% of the data and it's relatively low in file size, where as 667 is about 40mb more, of data people probably wont use.

Cache would be pretty huge even if you pack the maps, it would make more sense to just add the regions of map data you're going to use

You can make 667 look good on a 317 by upgrading gameframe and changing all of the oldschool things to a higher revision one though. I'm pretty sure that most of the people aren't capable of/ don't want to mess with the problems they have to face with 667 data. It is I'd say, the hardest revision to repack for some people.
Then go release it. Also, bump.

I like 667. I don't like the maps on 317, but everything else is fine. It's not rare either. You can get a 667 cache and unpack it using rs data suite. There are full releases for 667 clients. The biggest problem is maps. I like 508/525 maps.

As far as cache size - it's not really a problem when you do it properly and use a file server.

i dislike the 667 maps because of the main towns being dark\dull but 525- 634 have the lighter versions

I think that 667 data looks good on some clients.
A lot of it has to do with the gameframe, and what other data you're loading.
