But then again nobody knows how to read the Java website.
    Or even bothers to learn.

If this works, this will be the only real solution to this problem.

Please bear this in mind when hearing the word 'soon' from a software programmer.

As coding software generally takes thousands of years, software programmers have developed a natural adaptation to this in the form of an altered perception of the flow of time.

Due to this, the word 'soon' when uttered by a programmer should be taken to mean 'a very, very long time from now' in the terminology used by common human specimens who have not developed such an adaptation.
knowledge can be taught, but passion cannot.
It's better to create something that others criticise than to create nothing and criticise others.

or someone could buy the thing then re-sell it and offer to make peoples clients work for a small fee

cheapest i was saw like $80
then go and sell for $10 per person, could possibly make some money

You can call me retarded but here's an idea for you all. Since you believe that people won't be able to change the security option on their own which is true. You can create a macro program which will "Fix" the problem. Just have it open the Java security settings on its own and save the new settings. People will be able to understand downloading something to fix the problem rather than having to read.

I really can't understand why they did this. Pretty much every site with an applet no longer works and Java is losing its write once run anywhere capability. Isn't java supposed to be open? Now only people that have money can sign things. Anyone dumb enough to run a Java virus after a security prompt is dumb enough to run an executable.

    Annoyed.
