Download NetBeans IDE and open the project from the below linked source. I've updated everything to work with JDK 8 and it should still compile and run without any issues. It is based on Noobscape v4.

Hello everyone,
I've been trying to find a blankish client + server source, just for me, to dick around in. I only know java, so I know i have no business in making a public server until I learn SQL and that other shit.
I want something that I can download, set up a localhost server, and play in.
I've tried many different client + server sources already like Noobscape v3, but some imports don't exist, config file errors, etc that I don't know how to begin fixing.
I would really really appreciate a link to a source and client, as well as some basic instruction on how to get it running if needed.
Thank you so much in advance!

First off, thank you so much for taking the time to upload this to github, and replying
I'm still having a few errors though. I cloned the repository from git, and opened both projects in netbeans 8.1. As soon as they opened I got this:
There are netbeans notifications of errors in ImageSource.java, where it's unable to find the javax package.
When I try to run the client I'm getting a "Exception in thread "Thread-2" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError" error at EntityHandler.java at line 158. It's being called to load the rscd file using PersistenceManager, which is unable to find the com.thoughtworks.xstream.XStream import.
Server.java is also unable to find org.apache.mina.* imports, so it's unable to use the SocketAcceptorConfig class and methods.
Am I missing something? Do I need to download a certain java version to get all of these packages?
Looks like I had the .gitignore file not including the lib folder .jar libraries that it needed. I have fixed that, added them back in, and pushed the update to github. It should now compile and run correctly.
IT WORKS!! Thank you so so so much I really appreciate it! I've been wanting to do this for years and now I can finally play. You're the best Black Marwolf, cheers!
I REALLY recognize your name but I honestly can't remember who you are. I KNOW that I know you from somewhere, though.
Thank you for admitting that, so many people think they should be hosting servers when they have no idea what they are doing, and it's so sad to see.
I ran DARScape 317 in 2006 and DARScape Classic from 2008-2010. These days I mostly am interested in DayZ Standalone and putting that into RSC.
