hey guys i cant decide on what to do for my upcoming project im working on, should i jsut keep dungeoneering like runescape has or remove it as a skill and modify it into a raid style kind of like thetre of blood or chambers of xeric style from osrs?

im also open to suggestions and what the community really loves and would like to see something diffrent or not.

    My idea of the raid:

Reason i thought of removing dungeoneering skill was because i liked the idea of raids intoduced into the game bringing end game/stronger gear. Orignally when dungeoneering came out in 2010 it was fun but felt wierd for me as a skill.

The new gear that came out was actually strong and changed the game and meta drastically and devalued alot of older content completly, Also what i hated most was you required litreally nothing to invest (money wise) to get bis gears which is the reason i thought of making a raid system and the chaotics and dung rewards would still be the same but on a harder level and more challenging, With the raid system i was wondering of making the chaotics an upgrade of already existing content so older bosses or equipment wouldnt just be devalued completely, here is a suggestion i had:

Not decided on a specific maul as of yet (maybe create a new boss in tzhaar, to introduce elder maul) = chaotic maul
    vesta longsword = chaotic longsword
Rapier (custom rapier introduced through slayer maybe?) ( considered stats of new rapier: 75 stab 35 slash bonus 72 str) = chaotic rapier
    armadyl cbow = chaotic cbow
staff of light = chaotic staff
    Armadyl buckler = eagle-eye kiteshield
    Bandos Warshield = Chaotic kiteshield
Ward of subjugation = Farseer Kiteshield
Saradomin's murmur = Farsight sniper necklace
Saradomin's hiss = Arcane stream necklace
    Saradomin's whisper = Brawler's knockout necklace

    what is your opinion guys?

My opinion is the game has become rather ridiculous. It started as a 'medieval mmorpg' with a few kinks and turned into a cash grab, it's almost like runescape became a private server with the introduction of all the silly new items.

The idea behind dungeoneering is fine and the items too, but not for private servers.

To properly run dungeoneering (higher) floors you need a settled team (imo) and from my experience it's kinda hard to get that going on a ps.

Also making your own style of it is way more creative, hence I voted for the second option. =)

I wouldn't worry about it too much considering you are loading newer data which means that there are stronger items like Noxious, Malevolent/Tectonic/Seasinger, Drygores, etc. But transforming items from an older era into items from a newer area sounds like a recipe for disaster. You would be better off getting customs made and dedicate them to a raids-like system.

The Dungeoneering items have loads of other uses anyways. Could turn them into a donator benefit where each rank can "level up" an item. Lowest rank can only make it from T1 to T40 while highest can do T1 to T99. However they would be slightly worse in effectivity. E.g. Noxious Scythe has 2458 accuracy and 2011 damage while a Primal Maul would have 2096 accuracy and 1544 damage. Same applies to tools, armours, etc. Like I said, lots of uses for them. E.g. Minigames, Slayer Rewards, Voting Rewards, Donation Rewards, and many more.

Your point is exactly what i had in mind too, orignally back in runescape's prime time people would do more group activities and etc. Was fun to run with friends and in a runescape priv server prespective i had a feeling it would turn more into a solo content than what it was really intended for, hence i thought of making my 1st raid and introduce chaotics n etc through it, of course im planning on actually reusing all dungeoneering assets instead of it going to waste.

yh i guess you do have a point about not trying to use osrs items to upgrade. Orignally when i loaded rs3 content i had in mind of making a hybrid server (have rs3 and osrs mixed) but might actually be a terrible idea, orginally i just wanted 1 boss from osrs (zulrah) the rest just seemed like a rip off from rs3 anyways. With the equipment bonuses im actually keeping it pre eoc stats (like the image below) and im trying my best not have a p2w content like donators having benefits over regular players, rather want people to actually earn it in the tradional way and not pay to skip. Hence im thinking of an overall upgrade system to help prevent older content dying and not just having new bis completly replace older gear and have no use for that content.

EG. Torva is from nex a t80 power armour, and malevolent surpasses it cuz its t90 without hp boost but still beats it in stats and dps and kinda kills it off since you would rather do ROS to get malevolent which is better, So i thought of like having to make malevolent platebody you would require torva platebody (maybe break it down or something) and regualr materials to make. (my idea of a upgrade system to prevent older content from completly dying and being devalued)

Keep it real, are you capable of doing the actual dungeoneering skill?
