Is there not a packet within the JS5 or login states where a world id is sent on request from the client to the server? If so, could someone please inform me on this.

No, its within the WORLDLIST_FETCH_REPLY packet. Older revisions (and osrs) theres an actual opcode within the session decoding thats for the world list

EDIT: there is REQUEST_WORLDLIST = new LoginProt(23, 4) but pretty much unused in newer revs

Session decoding meaning after all cache requests have been made and it's at the login screen?

some guys like to call it a "handshake opcode"

Actually he's talking about the "auto"-world login protocol where the client sends a (significantly smaller) login request and server responds with change world and retry opcode. @OP I suggest looking @ scape-emulator for this if you're talking about pre-lobby
    I'm back.
