I've already implemented tile painting. At the right you have a settings icon.

    Currently looks like this:

I had a request from my tester to add height brushing. It will soon look like this:

I'm currently thinking of a way to create paths across the map. Something like this:

    RSCEDIT 1.0 release note

    • Added rectangle selection for tiles and objects.
    • I've speed-up several things like object adding, object removing and object deselecting.
    • Added an option to enter a height when painting (in the toolbar settings).
    • Added the option, if you want to paint using the current object in the + tab (in the toolbar settings). Can be handy when you want to fill an area with trees for example.
    • Some small bug fixes.
    • Showing interface component events is now much faster.
    • Changing sprites in interface components is now much faster.
    • Added cache analyzing. This may take some time (1 - 2 minutes) and will only take place the first time you load your cache from now on.

    What is cache analyzing?
We have noticed that some users upload a cache containing different types of indices. One may upload a 718 cache containing 667 items for example. When you add your cache, you have to type a revision. The server will then treat the cache according to the revision yo uentered. When the above example takes place, stuff will go wrong.

By analyzing your cache, the server will decide how to treat your cache. You still have to enter a revision when adding a cache, as there is one specific scenario where we can't decide what type of cache a user has.

    Will start working on:
    • Object sets. Object sets are sets containing multiple objects. Stuff like buildings, grass, ground decorations, fences and stuff like that. Sets that allow you to populate a region fast.
    • Interface support for revisions below 569.
    • NPC editing.

This is amazing. Great work mate.

FYI, editing items and probably anything in the 508 cache using RSCEDIT corrupts the cache and no longer allows the client to get past 'Checking for Updates'!

It doesn't have RSC cache support so its useless.

    Just kidding.

Been playing around with this on the demo account, looks very nice, feels good to use and has plenty of friendly UX features that makes editing the cache much more intuitive than other solutions. Some features are still a bit buggy, performance is pretty low (at least on my system) in the region viewer/editor viewing semi-large regions with a bit of objects, sometimes the region editor hangs when requesting a model replacement and the model isnt already loaded (seems not to be specific to cache revision or model id) and there isn't any way to cancel the requesting.

Has support for a few revisions that I am interested in and haven't had time to build a basic editor for, so I am somewhat interested, but $25 a month is a pretty steep price for only 1 cache for me at the moment because I've got utility, insurance and college debt to pay off, but if my situation (or the price) changed, I would definitely consider picking up a subscription.

Love your constructive feedback! Not sure why requesting models is going slow for you. Will take a look at it today.

Regarding the price, if we look at it relatively, people sell custom items/interfaces/maps and whatnot for more than $25. Since you can edit this stuff for a whole month long, I find it pretty cheap. And if you host a server and have players, it's no money.

I'm a student too, and understand your situation. I'd really like to offer you a small discount, but other customers wont like that I think. Hope you understand.

Almost done with object group picking. Am now looking for some nice categories & object groups to add. The idea is to pick a group, click "Choose" and then you can spawn it anywhere on the region.

Don't know how I will handle roofs yet though
