What is OSHD?
To spare you from reading a block of text, we are essentially a RuneScape Private Server that bases it's additional content on Oldschool RuneScape.
We have no intentions of making this server a re-make, but we want to implement OSRS content on-top of our own to give you the ability to enjoy OSRS content
in full High Definition. I know I've wanted to see how OSRS content would look in high definition, and I'm sure you'd love to check it out too.
---
Didn't you guys have this live, why is it a project now?
After a review of our progress, and looking at how things were done within the OSHD internal development, we've noticed that things were, well, not working. We've decided to completely start new, and rebuild our core from the beginning. We've gained the experience and the knowledge of what exactly needs to be done in order to bring the quality that we've been striving to achieve since the beginning of OSHD. Also with a recent leave of an important figure-head in our community, we've had to take a step back and reassess just where we want to take this game, and how we can do that without the valued member.
---
OSHD core information
We are based on the Hyperion framework. We are rewriting the Hyperion framework to be a much more suitable framework to host our platform on, as well as keeping the relatively simple methods to create our content in a much faster pace than how we produced content on our old framework.
We are utilizing the 530 revision and boast about being ahead of our competitors in terms of information collected about this revision, client development, and the production of our in-game content. With the addition of our OSRS content, we plan to take the mid-tier revisions by storm, and create the most stable platform ever created for mid-tier revisions, and offering the most content available.

Nah jk gl charlie & crewmembers. No charlie u cannot hire me but asking questions is fine
What I wonder though... You're all not stupid; far from. Idk the trystan guy but w/e, why aren't you lot creating a server fully yourselves? Designing the layers of the server entirely yourself? That way you'll end up with the framework you feel you'll need and you'll also have a new experience
Also regarding the XP rate poll: if you're going for an economy server please take my word and understand that XP rates are the highest economy modifier a server can have and setting it too high is a restriction you set on your own economy ;P
How'd you know I'd ask?
Trystan is highly intelligent, I've been working with him for the last 2-3 months and has a skill-set that I quite enjoy working with. We'd create our own framework, but we're also taking into consideration that we've established a community, and they've been waiting much too long for us to, er, get things on the road. It's been a struggle without a doubt, but I don't think we're going to make much progress on designing our own framework. We're all familiar with Hyperion, and I chose it as a framework that my entire team would be comfortable working with. It's a decision based on comfortability and speed of getting us back into a live game.
The experience rate has been quite a hot topic among our community. Some wanted it fast, some wanted it slow, and even the developers had a little spat about it. I want to evaluate a legitimate poll, and make a decision based on the poll. It's a confusing topic among our community, is all, and such a poll was created to evaluate what we really should go forward with.
I would recommend making the XP decision not a community based one. Players come and go but you have to manage the server until it shuts down or you leave. Players tend to have 0 forward thinking and also do not understand how an economy works, thus effectively fucking you over. You wouldn't let your kid design the house you are going to build either or would you?
If you want a server that is actually based on an economy that does not work with billions as a minimal transaction value, you will have to put the XP rate lower, make training take some time and carefully design the drop rates.
Good-luck fellas.
