Thread: SmartNPC and a new type of server

Hello I have started a little project of my own for the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] server and it is a little thing I got while gone away last week at my Girlfriends, I call it SmartNPC because that is just what it is, its basically giving the NPC a brain. You can approach them like a normal player, and talk to them , instead of clicking the "Talk to:" option, just walk up and say something like "hey" and the NPC will respond with an over the head chat like players do, and their text will show up in the chat box, but as a players does (Name and chat are different colors tho).

Also along with this, you can ask them to take you places such as Varrock, Fally, Lumby, Draynor, I am adding in more cities as the days go on, these will be any NPC you wish to use, myself I have chosen 2244 as a tester, I will then use either the old dude with the bell that gives you the rules in RuneScape, or another NPC.

CURRENT FEATURES OF SmartNPC:

Greetings
basic conversations
Goodbyes
Going to the cities I named above ( Varrock, Fally, Lumby, Draynor )
Getting some basic information from them and a handy handbook
Becoming close to the NPC


FEATURES TO COME:

Becoming friends with NPC
Private Chatting with NPC
Working for/with/getting NPC to work for you


BENEFITS OF BEING FRIEND WITH NPC:

Getting Gifts on holidays
Borrowing an item they have that you like
Being able to ask them to help you in a quest
request help for a fight
Leaving items at their house.



POINT OF THE SmartNPC:

My basic idea when I started this was to just make the NPC more realistic and fun to be around, and more useful other then just there to kill and buy from/sell to. This will allow you to join with the NPC and fight in battles upon the NPC and the Players.

THE NEW TYPE OF SERVER:

I am going to be making the SmartNPC into a base for a server I call Boneyard Revolution (yes it is already a project I am working on). This will be a basic idea of what the Boneyard Revolution is!

In this town when you join into the world you are joined into it with nothing, and shortly after your time you will be greeted by a mysterious old man, he will ask you if you wish to join the dark side, of fight for the good. if you choose to fight for the Evil ( or "Dark") side, you will be given a ring, this ring will Teleport you to a darker part of the world, and you will be able to join ranks with the NPC or even your own fellow players, with the Dark side you can join forces with such NPC as Lessers, Greaters, KBD, have dragons for guards, and if you choose good, you will have a ring that will Teleport you to the good base, and you can join forces with NPC and players alike, such as the Knights, Hill Giants, Elves (rangers). these will all be good, there will also be the neutral NPC that are there for training reasons, you will be able to level your character with these, and if you choose not to join Dark nor Good, you will remain neutral until you join the dark castle, or the good castle. once you are part of a team, you can't just leave it, you have to get kicked out in order to leave. now the sides also have their own magic!

DARK:

The dark have access to the Ancients spell book, and one arena spell from the normal, + all normal spells

GOOD:

The good has access to the Lunar spell book, and one arena spell from normal book, and the normal spells.
