Huh... are you in a multi-area? If one of the 2 NPCs does an AOE/attacks the other player that wasn't attacking it, then the other player might auto-retaliate back even if he's attacking something.
I'm new to rsps development and I've recently started helping at another server.
it's a 718 and it has this weird bug with combat that when 2 players are both attacking 2 different NPCs when in the same area one of the 2 players gets dragged to the NPC that the other player is attacking and starts attacking that same NPC as well... I don't know if that made sense if not please let me know and I'll provide some video to show what I mean.
Now since I'm new to rsps development I have no idea where to start looking for this.. any help is welcome!
Yes but I don't see why the NPC would attack another player while it is attacking one already? This happens everywhere even at rock crabs for example.
I added a video link in the original post that may clear up what I mean.
Could be a player routing error. It seems that the game routes every player, possibly only nearby, to the npc that is attacked. Check your methods for attacking npc's. It should only be routing the player who is attacking not everyone.
And do you think it's a problem caused by the player attacking the NPC or the NPC reacting to the player attacking it? Sorry fairly new to this so I'm trying to find my way through this
This looks like prime Matrix entity-extending-worldtile error to be honest. Add a hashcode definition to your entity/player/npc classes so the game doesn't think just because two entities are standing on the same tile they are identical.
Hi, thanks for answering, I don't really know how to do this though so if you could show me that would be great...
