So I've been wanting to make a newer verision of RS as a private server and I choose a 718 one, EradicationX to be specific. I've downloaded Server and Client but now I need some form of Java to be able to run it, I've been trying to download Java JDK from oracle but need a account to download it??

Can someone tell me what download/programs I need to run EradicationX and where to get those downloads, aand potentially how to get them? Thanks in advance!

Or would a "2009Scape Source Release" be easier to set up?..

You need Java Development Kit (JDK) to run the server, your going to have to make an account at Oracle (just need to register to download) and than point your server to the correct JDK version.

Okay, sounds easy enough, I will do that! Now about pointing my server to the correct JDK, is that complicated or something I can search a guide for and do quickly?

Its jsut a matter of telling the system where your JDK is. You will also need Eclipse, as newer users and exprienced ones use this for errors and easier coding. You can download it at :

Theres plenty of tutorials out there to set up a server, you just got to look. If your having problems here though, you will probably run into a lot more getting it started. Most sources require a little skill to run properly, and a lot of learning to manipulate it or customize it to your needs. I suggest spending some time in the Tutorial Section and learning some more on how everything works and where it all is. This is also a good list of Tutorials to get you going:

Can I make a recommendation to stop using Oracle shit and use AdoptOpenJDK instead?
