Thread: 525 servers? Are they ALIVE or DEAD????? (quick read)

They're dead, and not for the reason you're thinking of.
The graphics, while they may seem exciting to some of us, the general rsps audience isn't intrigued by them anymore. It's been far too long since those graphics were last popular, most people will be turned off by anything beyond OS graphics at this point.
I too was considering making a 500-600 revision server, completely from scratch, including enough content from revisions such as OS and making it user-friendly with a runelite-like client that includes all your generic OS plugins. However after just asking some people about how they feel about it, the general response was something in lines of "make it toggleable to OS graphics", OS animations etc. In the end, in order to please people, you'd basically be building a client that allows "hotswapping" between the full looks of OS and 500, and that's just far too much work for what it's worth. The graphics are a nice surprise for most people, but it'll quickly grow old and people will prefer the OS look of things, as it keeps the game a little simpler(easier distinction between gears, armour etc).
