Looking for some help on starting my own source
Hi guys, please don't let the post count put you off, I may be new to the community but I know my way around Java.
I have been looking for a couple days on how to make a server source from Scratch but have had no luck (it's possible I just don't know the correct thing to search for).
I want to do this to learn the ropes around RSPS Programming, and because I want to be able to program in the bells and whistles my self, not go and download some source, leach off of it, and call it my own. Since I am a noob to RSPS, I have a couple questions I was hoping some of the pros could help me with/answer
1) Where does one download the newest cache from, do you just copy it from C:\.jagex_cache_32?
2) How are people taking a source from 700 and updating it to 768, do you simply add the new cache and update the code?
3) I have been looking but can't find a blank 716+ source to look at and see what goes on inside the guts of a server. Where packets are handled, the workings of the TCP, etc
If someone could help me I'd be grateful. I can't think of all of my questions at this moment, but if I do remember any of the others, I'll edit this or reply to someone else.
I'd also be willing to talk on Skype, I currently do not have a mic though, so it would just be chatting, not call.
