Thread: 718 client with 742 cache not loading and extremely laggy

Hi,

for some reason, at random times, when I try to connect to my server (718/742), it takes a really long time for the login screen to show up (like a whole 30 seconds) and when I finally log in, everything is EXTREMELY laggy. This happened to me once before and to fix it, I just had to log into another hosted server and then I was fine going back to my local server.

Now, not even that is working. It is just extremely laggy as if the client is taking along time to load or read the cache.

The server and client were completely fine with a 718/737 (no lag whatsoever at any time) and my 718/742 was working perfectly last night when I was working on it but now it keeps acting up.


What is the problem and how do I fix it?


EDIT: I think I actually found the error (which I don't think is the reason and I think it is wierd). I changed my run.bat to a different run.bat (from a different client) and that seemed to work. I decided to try this because the lines were different and the other client never got any issues like this.

Could that be the reason?
