I noticed my 508 client had a folder mapdata with all the mapdata. So for the lulz I removed it to see what happen, and nothing happened. Everything still ran fine.
But then why was it in there? What was the use, if there was any? Would this cause any trouble in the future? This made the client a lot smaller to rar since a lot of files were removed. Are there other useless files in a client which can possibly be removed to decrease the size?

Doesn't mean the uploader didn't leave the mapdata folder before removing the code for dumping. Maybe they were being nice and were letting the people who didn't have the map data, to actually have it.Originally Posted by thesharp
