Aren't they the same? Though the cache might be incomplete when I was browsing interfaces.

idx 2 holds config files(use to hold item/npc/object def) and many more but the files was getting to big inside them so that why they got there own for. jagex just disabled the files so client will not request them

the cache might seem it missing files but infact it prob disabled or it just the extractor you use

I don't know any other extractor then galkons, got any suggestions?

Edit: I got one more last question tho, in 317 i've seen some people have gotten a grip of a few idx and dat files, such as spotanim.dat, seq.dat, how is it possible to dump them? Or can you even do it, since someone told me they don't have it.

most of the data from 400+ is converted and saved into a format the 317 client can read.

Most of the time they dump the values as they are loaded by the new revision client normally in text files, or possibly straight into a binary format. Logically the next step would be to make the 317 client load those files and then convert them into the 317 data format.
I have never done this process, however I find it interesting so this is how I would undertake it.
