    Hello there,

I thought I'll post a help topic, because I never really got it to work
How exactly do you add a custom made armor/ weapon model? What steps do you need to go through?
I'm not talking about models from another revisions, but say you create a sword model yourself and want to add it to, whether 317 or 508+ (doesn't matter).

What ever I try to do, it just turns my character invisible once I try to wield that item..
What I do is, I take a custom-made model (e.g. sword), re-size and position it same as other swords in Runescape. Then I open it up in DATMaker, set priorities (tried 10 and 255 with same result), choose "Right Hand" as the animation and make the .dat out of it. When I add it in game and try to wield, it just makes the character disappear...
Tried models with ~100 polygons so it can't be because of too high polygon count.

Could someone please explain how to do it? I've seen many people adding those customly made items, even on 508+, so I know it's not hard.

It's only for personal stuff so I would know how, not going to make any servers with the customs.

Will rep for any help, thanks.

    ok,

its ok with the polygons aslong as you dont go over the 1000 ish, somtimes it crashes on 900 depending on the model type.

i can explain with pictures etc, on msn its easier, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    1. yeah the count can't go above 1,000
    2. you need to convert the model into ALL triangles, or it won't work.
    3. NO TEXTURES.
    4. you must have a "models" folder in the client.
    5. you must have the datmaker program.
    6. you must create the INTS for the model. (say if you wanted it to swing like a godsword, then just copy the godsword ints in the class file)
    7. you must add the model information to your server side too. Or it won't work.
Any more questions? don't be afraid to ask. BTW i know it looks like im a newb. I've been doing this for a long ass time.
