ur comparison is not good, if not a terrible one, you can't force someone to have a passion for teaching rsps; it won't happen and i can assure you that the only way to get this community work together actively is when money becomes less of a factor (which will not happen as well and in fact will only get worse as our average users get older and start to value money more than ever)

There is a huge benefit to it. The primary motivations for current progress might be financial but there is a significant body of voluntary work that is instrumental to the progress of this community. Apollo is one such example, as I'm sure you're well aware being involved with it to the degree you have been.

Not once have I said there is anything wrong with marketing or selling a product or anything like that. Your work, your time, sell it. Good shit.

But we really are heavily indebted to the community as a whole, so many programmers would not even be here today without the good will of users like Graham, super_, frank, etc. You probably learned a great deal from them no? Did they ever charge you?

You didn't understand my post. Teachers impart knowledge that would otherwise take far more time to discover, or worse may not be known at all. Their monetary value is not relevant to this as I pointed about above, and even if it were their motivation is not primarily financial.

i don't think you realise that i'm not the one that needs convincing on the benefits of 'giving back', which is why i spend a lot of time educating and sharing development resources.

on the contrary sharing 'data' doesn't actually help anybody to learn anything but saves the time of somebody trying to bring a product to market.

notice how this thread is just a dump of IDs and isn't teaching people how to dump such a list?

nope, they never charged me, which is why i've ran this community free of charge for 10 years to ensure that other people can get the same experience. also why i give the same 1-to-1 advice to people like Tyluur on Discord etc

if i charge you pro rata for what my time is worth considering the amount of time i've spent keeping the community clean and safe for you to discuss topics like this, you guys would have paid off my mortgage already. and then after all that i went and made a bunch more opensource contributions in my other spare time!

I am done posting here, my attitude is not 'do everything yourself'. If I had knowledge on something I would appreciate if the people who want the knowledge can actually ask me the relevant questions that can help them learn or figure it out for themselves, if someone was to just say I'm hoarding knowledge or just to release what I know, you can usually know their intention is not to learn. I am also talking specifically for RSPS here. I don't know where most people studied but professors usually explain the concept, show diagrams and pseudo code to give you an idea of what is going on. They then usually give a demonstration with live code which is publicly available. They will then test your knowledge by coming up with questions and puzzles you can solve by applying what you have learned. RSPS is such a niche scene and rare for people to just give away what they know especially when some rely on RSPS heavily.

The community has come far in that sense and everyone should respect him for it. This individual though doesn't seem to the mindset of learning. It seems he just wants people to release 'hoarded data' whatever he thinks that is. Did you read my edit on my thread? I don't recall asking for any of these on that thread. I was asking for if there was another CS2 mapping for the arms and wrists that are linked to that torso. I have gone through that repo and I don't see anything related to CS2 mappings there.
