Well I just don't see the point of 474's? 317's have everything 474's do except custom animations (we are on the verge of getting this done) What's so good about 474's? Ya you got a few more anims, and yaaa you got weapon specials, but this can all be added to 317's too? And like wtf, 474's load 377 maps, it's not really a true 474 if we are using shitty 377 maps? Please, post your opinion and don't be an idiot.

So we have the REAL interfaces, so we have extremely better animations then 317's had, so we have much improved graphics then the 317's had, so we dont need to create custom items/objects/interfaces. So we correctly have new updated better looking npc's then 317's will ever have. So will have the same pking we all enjoyed before jagex removed it.

Well you have to move on sooner or later. If we stay on 317... I dont think anyone will advance in java knowledge. If we update revisions im sure will advance.

Well I just don't see why we must re-do everything we already accomplished with 317's. And 474's are okay and all, but I think we should really somehow find out how to unpack the cache and get true 474 mapdata.

    EDIT:

And if we keep updating every runescape version, example: 503, 508, 525, 545, 550, 552, and so on, we will never advance if all we do is keep moving on and leaving things unfinished. It's like buying new food every week and not finishing every meal and leaving it half uneaten.

Choose one revision, and code your own, that's the point. Some ppl like to stay on 317 etc, but some want challenge. (And 317 have too many idiots, that why I code 500+ )

317's are crap, one look at the framework, and i already made a decision that my own framework had to be done, and no point doing an entirely new framework on an old revision, 317's suck ass, highly unoptimized, unconventional, shit, and i don't even wanna get on 317's client, cuz thats another long story, you cant find a decent client without a ton of crap being put in it (fyi, not everyone uses mapdata to access the encrypted maps)

You should know better than most that there isn't a way around mapdata (apart from bruteforcing or dumping), so what do you mean by that statement?

Also, you shouldn't judge the revision based on the servers used. You could have equally written a decent server in 317 or 508. You also know, that the standard 508 pali servers, are almost as bad as some of the ones found in the 317 section.

In fact, from a technical standpoint, there are lots of similarities between both revisions.
