    ______

I am offering free mentoring for two weeks either over Skype or PM. Message me or post here if you're interested.

I will work at your pace, as well as keep track of your progress. I may suggest increasing the pace if I feel it would help the overall result, but will not overwhelm you. If you feel the mentoring is beneficial, we can discuss further mentoring.a

If you've never programmed before, I'll introduce you to software development, help you get on your feet.

For those who have programmed before, this offer isn't limited to beginners: You'll be introduced to accepted standards and principles that'll ease the development cycle.

The topics I expose will include, but are not limited to:

    Beginner
    • Development Environment (IDE, runtime enviornment, compilers, tools)
    • Core basics (variables, types, control flow)
    • Imperative Programming (loops, conditional statements, stacks)
    • Object Oriented Programming (objects, classes, heap)
    • Functional Programming (anonymous functions, currying, stateless)

    Intermediate
    • Object Oriented Design (principles, SOLID, GRASP)
    • General Development (use cases, diagrams, problem domain)
    • General Idioms (popular techniques such as lazy initialization, pooling, look-up tables)
    • Analytics (debugging, profiling, bytecode)

    Advanced
    • Development Techniques (iterative, waterfall, etc..)
    • Builds (build lifecycles, build tools)
    • Testing (unit testing, integration testing)
    • Deployment (platforms, shells, versioning)
    • Reverse Engineering (opaque predicates, transformations, probing)

PM me with the details of what you already know and what you are interested in learning if you're interested, and include the medium we'll be using (Skype or PM).

I may be updating this list based on how in-depth the sessions are (reverse engineering requires instrumentation knowledge, instrumentation may need to be it's own category).

If you feel these topics are overwhelming, no worries - these are not mandatory. I'll be working at a pace you feel comfortable with by consistently asking for your input.
