Just a game I've more-or-less reskinned ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]). I purchased the base, made tweaks/changes to rates, costs, etc. and this is the outcome. Still more to come and I was hoping to get (better) ideas from you guys. Thanks in advance. Media is below, I will likely post more. Adding new businesses/managers/upgrades is super simple & has no limit, so there's minimal work to do. Sprites could be considered placeholders until I can find time to do proper artwork for it.
This app is currently only being supported on Android and Desktop. Furthermore, if you have an Android device that is 960x1440 in resolution & you'd like to do me a solid, PM me.
Spoiler for Old media:
Please guys, report any bugs you find. It does a lot for me as a single
motherdeveloper. If you are having UI issues (resolution, etc.) then let me know ASAP. I spent the last 3-4 hours scaling it for 5:4, 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 ratios. If you have anything outside of these ratios, I can't guarantee it'll work 100% correctly. Please post your progress below as well!
A few things to mention:
- It is built using C# in unity; therefore it is an executable file (.exe)
- there is no "exit" in-game
- there is no "menu" in-game
- aside from the folder you download, the only data that is collected/saved is in your appdata/locallow/krator gaming/ folder. If you want to reset your data at any time, delete the .dat file inside userData.
- I do have a Discord channel for this project, PM me for it as I don't believe I can put it on the OP.
5/24/2018 - Updates
- Reskinned a lot of the UI.
- Moved around the buttons for managers/upgrades.
- Flax is no longer quicker than cowhide on start. (thanks Hunter__!)
- Created a menu that I will expand on in the coming days.
- Began stats tracking for total wealth & total playtime.
- Bankruptcy is still on the chalkboard. I would like to have some kind of 'prestige' system, but I will likely come up with a reason to dump gold -- ex: ability to buy cosmetics/perks)
Spoiler for Media:
forcemy own decision, I have generated 2 ways to play for now:
Web App - progress will delete on refresh/web page close (1920x1080)-> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (suggested by [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] from Discord. Thank ya sir!)
Download for Desktop - progress will persist until you delete it -> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I also added a command support system. There's only a few right now, listed below, case sensitive:
- "MILLIONAIRE" - adds 100M
- "GG RIP" - ..I dare you to try it lol.
- "BIG STAKER" - adds 10B
- "Zezima" - adds 100T
Made a lot of internal updates, which eventually led me to the one thing that originally stumped me and made me stop development. I can now add business and persist data across new versions. Very cool, glad to have this figured out. This will allow me to constantly update the game without fear of players losing progress.
I've completed the back-end for this to be fully expanded (no pun intended) as OSRS progresses as well. We now support "Expansions", which are exactly that; there's the base game, and then we will have additional ventures you can buy your way into. No worries; this is not via MTX. You use in-game monies to do this. I've included some images below. Additionally, each expansion pack can be added in any order. Don't want KBD? Don't buy it. Skip straight to Cerberus; that's totally fine! I've made the system entirely dynamic to ensure you can genuinely customize your expansions exactly how you want. This is truly the golden time for this game. Now that majority of the back-end for dynamic gameplay is added, I can focus on content, which leads me to a proposal; I need someone with OSRS experience who would like to help me come up with new ventures. Please PM me if you're interested.
Spoiler for Media:
Progression with expansions continues. I've got a list of 15+ additional packs coming into OSRS-TM. From bosses to cities, I want the alpha release to be something enjoyable.
I've given the mobile UI a little TLC, looks much better now. It also uses tiled sprites so there's no stretching issues. The desktop version will have the same content features, but the UI & scaling will differ greatly between the two. Furthermore, the WebGL is being improved as often as I can. It runs perfectly fine on PC but it is not mobile friendly at all. I have scaled the app to 940x1440 as the native build resolution, and I am in desperate need of someone with an Android to download the APK and send me a screenshot. That's all you have to do. Then you can delete it.
Finally, more of a back-end note, but player saving via DAT -> JSON -> mySQL is underway. You will be required to register an account if you'd like to save progress to our database. This will make implementing features between the website & game seamless, so that's why we've chosen to go this route. As usual, thank you all for participating this far and just know we'd never be this far without everyone's support. Please PM me if you would like our Discord link.
Spoiler for Media:
these types of games can be quite addicting to play.
good luck with this!
Is it available for testing or playing on the desktop, and if so where?
This doesn't look too bad. Good stuff.
This is pretty cool, tbh something I'd play with in my spare time! You should consider releasing this so we can test it out too!
Looking for someone who can test this and also give constructive ideas on the product. If you think you’re able to do so please PM me.
Also I have successfully made this able to be ported to any resolution android. So if you’re interested in *that*, pm me or comment please.
Should have a good working version for testing available very soon.
