Welcome, to the world of Arcaniem.

Arcaniem is a world that you can venture with your friends, a world where you can fight enemies, a world where loot is valuable, and the monsters you meet will leave you shaking and thirsty for more. As opposed to our original flagship title, Sand and Swords, you will be able to journey through a world, and discover new people, new characters, loot epic chests, discover resources, wield powerful new weapons, learn new combat abilities, explore dungeons, fight epic bosses, and challenge your way to the top of the high scores.

I've slowed/scrapped development on Sand and Swords in favor for a more "world-based" game. I felt like I limited myself with the side-view combat and no support for a world, and speaking with some of my community, doing a 2D MMO was a good way to move forward.

I'm taking what I learned in Sand and Swords, specifically, my inventory/equipment systems, and applying them to a world-based 2D MMO, which would be more entertaining as a player as opposed to S&S where all you did was combat.

As long as you don't make it anything too similar, to runescape, and don't drop development mid-way through *cough* like 90% of others *cough*, I think this could turn out to be a fun game. Good luck hoping for a promising future on this one.

I'm using Tiled for map creation, and then again using Java Swing for the client. I'm using Netty 4 for the back-end. Anything will look like RPG Maker when you make a 2D top-down

Anything you see as of the date of this post are merely placeholders. I always pay for art when it comes to actually making things look pretty
